Terms and privacy
The short version: Bridgeis a list of other people's services. We do not run them, we do not vouch for them, and we do not keep anything about you.
What this is
Bridgepoints you to organisations that already exist in Northeast Ohio. It is free, it needs no account, and it is run by Student Civic Leaders under Maya's Way.
What this is not
It is not an emergency service. It does not provide housing, legal advice, medical care, counselling or crisis intervention, and nobody is monitoring what you type here. If you need someone now, call 988, call 911 if you are in danger, or dial 211 to reach a person.
About the organisations we list
We are not affiliated with them, we are not paid by them, and nobody can pay to appear here or to rank higher. Listing an organisation is not an endorsement of it, and we cannot guarantee that what they offer, what it costs, or who they serve is still exactly as described.
We check what we can and show you the date of that check on every listing, along with whether it was checked by a person, confirmed by the organisation, or only checked for a working link. Rules and fees change, so the organisation's own page is always the one to believe. If something here is wrong, tell us on that listing.
We are not a regulator. If something about how an organisation treated you felt wrong, you can report a concern on its page, but we cannot investigate and we cannot act quickly.
Guides and information
The step-by-step guides are written by the cohort from the public guidance of the agencies that issue those documents, and each guide lists the sources it used. They are information, not legal or financial advice.
What we store about you
Nothing that identifies you. Specifically, we do not store:
- Any account, because there is none. We never ask your name, age or address.
- What you type into search, or anything you say to the assistant.
- Your ZIP code. It is turned into a distance in your own browser and never sent to us.
- Any document. There is no upload anywhere on this site and there never will be.
What we do keep is a set of monthly counts, with nothing attached to a person:
- How many times a listing was shown, and how many times someone tapped through to it.
- Which categories and counties people looked in.
- How many questions the assistant answered, and how often it did not know.
- How many people marked something helpful or wrong.
Those counts are what we give back to the organisations we send people to, so they can show a funder that this reaches people. They cannot be traced to anyone.
To stop the assistant being abused we briefly hold a scrambled, shortened form of your network address for sixty seconds. It cannot be turned back into you and it is gone within the minute.
Accessibility
We are aiming at WCAG 2.1 AA and are not claiming to have reached it. If something here is unusable for you, tell us and we will fix it.
Telling us something is wrong
Every listing has a way to report a broken link or wrong details, and a separate way to raise a concern about an organisation. Neither one needs an account. Neither one is watched continuously.
